Project description:
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate to develop, coordinate and carry out the multidisciplinary project above. The position will be hosted by the Isabella Wagner lab and co-supervised by David Berry (Uni Vienna) via joint weekly lab meetings. The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria: background in (cognitive) neuroscience/microbiology/bioinformatics or related fields; excellent English language; advanced programming skills (Matlab, Python, R) and motivation to expand those; excellent skills in project planning and independency in problem-solving; ability to work in a multidisciplinary, international team. Experience with experimental design/cognitive testing/neuroimaging/gut microbiome analysis/laboratory animal experimentation is strongly desired. Microbiome analyses will be carried out by the JMF and in close collaboration with the Berry lab (Uni Vienna). FMTs and neurocognitive tests will be performed at the Medical University of Graz in close collaboration with the Gregor Gorkiewicz group.
