Project description:

We are recruiting a research technician in the Bergthaler Lab at the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. The scientific focus of the open position is on pathogen surveillance and the development of wet-lab methods for identifying and tracking pathogens from a variety of sample types. The ideal candidate has a strong interest in developing and running next generation sequencing protocols for nucleic acids of pathogens, the willingness to learn and develop their own ideas, contribute to scientific projects and discussions, and a strong organizational mindset to support lab management.

You will be part of a great team of molecular biologists, computational biologists, statisticians and next-generation sequencing experts from 9 nationalities and embedded within a highly supportive and diverse research environment in Vienna, one of the most liveable cities in the world.
