CoE Microplanet First Science Day showcases Method Facilities

On 23 Oct 2023, the Cluster of Excellence “Microbiomes Drive Planetary Health” held its inaugural Science Day.

On October 23, 2023, CoE key researchers gathered for the first CoE Science Day to learn about available methods and services in the CoE.

The Science Day unfolded as a forum that enabled the CoE Microplanet members to get a comprehensive overview of the available methods and services at an early stage of their work packages. Each of the nine institutions presented an overview of their methods and services, followed by stimulating discussions to promote synergies and collaboration in this multidisciplinary five-year project.

Notably, French filmmaker Marie-Monique Robin was on site to capture highlights of the event and interview researchers for a forthcoming documentary on microbiomes to be aired on Arte, ZDF, ORF and RTS. As the CoE Microplanet embarks on its research mission, these collaborative moments of exchange, vision-sharing, and media engagement are critical to bringing microbiome research to a broader audience.
